This growth in the market is being encouraged through initiatives such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The RHI will pay a pre-determined price for every kWh heat generated by ground or water source heat pumps. Air source heat pumps are expected to be included in the RHI scheme at a later date. Smaller heat pump systems will have to be fitted by MCS accredited installers to be eligible for these funds.
