Every voice matters.Begin the journey by bringing a garment - symbolic or everyday - and sharing its story in a safe, facilitated circle. This opening workshop invites participants to reflect on personal experiences and contribute fabric that will become part of a collective wearable sculpture. Through conversation and connection, we weave the first threads of resilience and solidarity.What to ExpectGather in a circle and share a story connected to your garment if you wish. Sharing can be as simple as one word.Cut garments and textiles into squares and distribute material for painting, embroidery, or felting.Optional audio recording of words or sounds that emerge during the session, contributing to the collective soundscape.Start creating your story piece during the session. You may take it home to continue working on the piece. Then, bring it back to later workshops to add to your work, or bring it to workshops six or seven for assembly.Details:This workshop will be held in the Learning Centre at the Museum at Inveresk, 2 Invermay Road, Launceston.The workshop series is free to register - please note bookings are essential.This workshop is open to women and gender-diverse individuals of all ages.Be sure to join us for the final unveiling of the sculpture on Friday 6 March at our free morning tea celebration.
