- **Event Description**: Explore Hilltop Arboretum at night! 

Bring a charged phone or camera to take photos, a headlamp or flashlight, mosquito protection, and your water bottle.

Stroll along the trails, looking for sleeping lizards in the meadow, search the trees with your flashlight for Luna moths, enjoy the singing frogs and katydids, watch busy orbweavers build their webs, and other wonders of the night. 

Light stations will be set up to attract moths, beetles, and other nocturnal insects to a white surface which gives you a nice background to take photos and document them for the City Nature Challenge. 

Post your photos as observations in the iNaturalist app or website iNaturalist.org. Your contributions will help us compete against the 800+ other cities participating in the City Nature Challenge and provide valuable scientific data!

This is a self-paced event to wander the grounds and look at the light stations. Insect enthusiasts will be on site to chat with.

Sunset is at 7:40 p.m. Most moths tend to start appearing at around 8:30 p.m.
