Christmas Carols on Ingleborough with Mountain Accordion Man

You are invited to join a peer-led walk, hosted by BMC Yorkshire Area volunteer, Carmine De Grandis (Mountain Accordion Man) guiding the route. This social walk will explore one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks using a short, circular route which reaches the top of Ingleborough and, returning via Little Ingleborough. Four years ago the tradition started by Mountain Accordion Man to take his accordion to the top of well known hills before Christmas to sing Carols and spread joy from the great outdoors. This is a fundraising event and all donations will go to Climbers Against Cancer, a charity which raises funds for cancer research and towards projects aimed at supporting people who live with Cancer. This is a winter walk so all who attend will need to come prepared. We will monitor the weather and conditions underfoot and reserve to make changes to make sure the walk can go ahead in safety. If you play an instrument you are welcome to carry it and play it on the top (but this is at your/your instrument risk). Come ready to sing and bring a hot drink or something to share. You are also welcome to join us at a local pub after the walk.

What to Bring

We’ll cover a range of terrains, so please ensure you are well-prepared with appropriate gear

Footwear: Sturdy, water-resistant hiking boots or shoes with good grip

Clothing: Dress in layers, including a warm layer and waterproofs, as conditions can vary; bring a hat and gloves for cooler areas

Food and Drink: Bring enough food and water for a full day’s walk; there will be no places to purchase refreshments en route

Other Essentials: Although we plan to finish within daylight hours, carrying a small torch or head torch is advisable for emergencies

Who Can Attend

Anyone, Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be always kept under close control, please indicate on your booking if you will be bringing a dog

Health Precautions: If you have any health conditions that might impact your participation, please inform us in advance. Carry any required medications, and let the walk leader know if assistance may be needed in accessing them

Covid-19: Please do not attend if you feel unwell or have Covid-19 symptoms
