Have yourself a nerdy little Christmas with this special holiday edition of Study Hall! If you love holiday specials, but wish they came with more surprising facts and a lot more laughs, this show is your new December tradition.
You’ll hear real stories on seasonally inspired topics and then our performers use some magic to turn those lectures into completely improvised scenes that are smart, funny, and holly and/or jolly. Come deck the Study Hall!
12/20 @ 7PM FEATURES:
🎓Dakota Jones. Dakota is the artistic director of Cryptid Entertainment here in Indiana. Recently, he just finished the Muppet Movie Live fundraiser and sold out run of Evil Dead: The Musical. Preferring to be behind the scenes, Dakota has written several pieces for the IF Theatre and the Indyfringe Festival, like Bigfoot Saves The World, Horror Hurts, and Showerhead. If there is one thing he loves more than obscure B-movie references in shows, it is watching obscure B-movies on the regular. He would like to thank the 1993 Geo Storm for its daily inspiration, wisdom, and love.
🎓Dr. Jason Aukerman. Jason is the Director of the Ray Bradbury Center and an Associate Professor at IU Indianapolis, where he teaches American Studies and English. Jason’s research and courses explore science fiction, banned books, conspiracy theories, and the cultural power of horror. Jason is also now a Study Hall cast member, acting as steady host and lecturer!
🎓TBA! We know who they are and you will soon. Keep an eye on our social media to learn how the final guests are!
