STAC Online Modules to be completed prior to in-person date (~8 hours to complete)About this EventSafe Travel for All Children is designed to serve as an enrichment course to provide certified child passenger safety technicians with an overview of issues related to transporting children with special health care needs. This is the HYBRID STAC. This course is a two-part series:• The first part of this course will require you to complete modules in IU Expand - Canvas online learning management system. It will focus on passenger vehicles and safety restraints, and will also include self-check assessments and open book exams. (completed online from August 17th, 2025 - September 17th , 2025).• The second part of the course will be an in-person session with Safe Travel for All Children instructors where you will get hands-on experience, work through case studies, and complete proficiency skills tests. This will be on Thursday, September 17th, 2025, in the Riley Pediatric Care Center, 1002 Wishard Blvd, Room 2000, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Parking in Lockfield Garage 826 University Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46202 – Parking entrance directly across from the Riley Pediatric Care Center. Parking validation will be provided.After completing this course, you will be proficient in various conditions that may affect transportation, identifying the best restraint, positioning recommendations, and harnessing requirements in the restraints, in addition to installation of adaptive restraints in passenger vehicles.Please know that this is enrichment training only and that the certification process does not apply. Child Passenger Safety Technicians can earn up to 11.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at the completion of the two-part training. Following registration, you will be invited to register for the online learning management system to complete part one of the training from August 17th, 2025-September 17th, 2025.
