Absalom Jones, the first Black priest ordained in The Episcopal Church, will take place at St. Philip’s in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday, February 14 at 11 a.m. Bishop Jennifer Baskerville-Burrows will preside, and the Rev. Aaron Rogers, Missioner for Black Ministries in the Diocese of Southern Ohio, will preach. Music will be led by a joint choir made up of St. Philip’s members and El Coro Latinoamericano of Christ Church Cathedral. A reception will follow the service. This event is co-sponsored by St. Philip’s, Christ Church Cathedral, and the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis.
