Safety Skills You Can Start Using Right Away

Keeping your child safe at home and in the community takes more than good intentions; it takes the right goals and the right resources. In this FREE caregiver webinar, Lauren D'Amato and Megan Pich will walk you through Bierman's Home Safety Partnership Resources, with examples of questions caregivers can ask to determine safety risk in their home, safety goals for your child, and resources across key areas, from elopement and water safety to managing dangerous items and more.

What You'll Learn:

- How caregiver interviews help identify your child's specific safety needs
- Concrete, adaptable safety goals you can bring home
- Trusted resources across key safety areas, including elopement and water safety
- How to build your own plan using the same goals-and-resources framework, even for scenarios not covered live

Meet Your Presenters:

Lauren Kryzak D'Amato, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA (NJ #15BC00035300, NY, (RI), LABA (MA), LBS (PA), VP of PEBBL, is a professional in applied behavior analysis (ABA). She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2011 and earned her doctorate in Learning Processes and Behavior Analysis in 2015 from the Graduate Center of New York. Her career began more than 13 years ago as an in-home therapist for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Throughout her career, she has worked with clients across various settings, including homes, schools, clinics, and residential facilities.


Megan Pich has been in the ABA world for 9 years. She has worked as an RBT, trained RBTs, served as a BCBA, and now offers parent guidance to our families across Indiana as the Parent Training Specialist. Since starting at Bierman this past June, she has launched Group Parent Trainings, offered parent guidance trainings for BAs, and implemented 1:1 parent training sessions to provide ABA strategies for families across the 5 centers. Her goal is for parents to try these strategies at home and in the community to first teach them how to change their own behavior, which will then support their children with autism. Megan enjoys hanging out with her husband and 2-year-old daughter and trying every new Fall flavor of iced lattes.
