Join IAA Board Member, Trish Dodson, to learn some basic watercolor techniques, including wet on wet, dry brush, adding salt to your painting, using plastic wrap for texture, drawing off paint with paper towels, indenting, and masking. This one-day workshop is great for beginners and the experienced artist alike. ----- When, where, and how much? This class will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at The Artists Hand Gallery & Espresso Bar, located at 732 Philadelphia St., Indiana, PA 15701. Free weekend parking is available in the lot behind the gallery. Class is from 1pm to 4pm. Please use the back entrance. $50 for IAA Members and $65 for non-members. Please note, the sign-up deadline is Friday, June 10, 2026. No refunds will be issued after this date. ----- What supplies do I need? Trish will supply: Watercolor Paper Watercolors (cake type) Brushes Water Cups Pencils/Erasers Salt Plastic Wrap Still Life Items Participants should bring: Watercolor Paper (if you have a preferred brand) Brushes (again, if you have a preferred brush) Paper Towels Reference Photos (optional) ----- Is there an age minimum? Any student 13+ are welcome. ----- How to join! You can sign up and pay online at indianaartassociation.org. We use PayPal for online payments. IAA provides a welcoming, creative community and membership gives you discounts on classes, access to enter your art into our member shows throughout the year, and more. ----- About Trish Dodson: Trish received her Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from IUP; later earning a Master's of Arts in Fiber, working with handmade paper, and minoring in woodworking. She enjoys drawing, painting with acrylics, printmaking and making handmade paper. Trish taught art for ARIN Intermediate Unit as an itinerant and has taught at both Blairsville Elementary and Middle School, as well as teaching high school students. She also established the Indiana Art Association's Summer Arts Camp, which she administered for 26 years. Other experiences include teaching art to seniors at the Kittanning Care Center and teaching art for the Staff Studio in Blairsville.
