We’ve invited Lavender Besties, Megan from Megan Creates Art and Ivory Blue, to come hang out with us at the studio and share their stories and their vision! Both of these artists have been part of Lavender Studios’ journey from the very beginning, and it feels special to bring them together in our space, not just as talented creators, but as friends who’ve helped shape our community.
I met Megan last year at an open mic and immediately fell in love with her personality, her kindness, and her craft. She’s an incredible pyrography artist, the one behind my wood-burned portrait of Lady! Megan is coming to talk not just about her art, but about the real life behind it: being an artist on social media, living in a camper for an extended period of time, and forming meaningful connections through people’s love for their pets. She approaches every piece with deep respect, whether she’s honoring a beloved pet who’s passed or celebrating one still very much here. Her heart shows in everything she does.
I met Ivory a few years ago as one of the very first artists I booked at Englewood Arts, and she blew me away from the start: her production, her talent, her musicality. Ivory is by far one of the most professional and ambitious artists in Kansas City, with the rare ability to sing straight into your soul. I’m so excited to have her back in the studio as a featured performer and to share her artistry with all of you once again.
Bringing Megan and Ivory together at Lavender is our way of celebrating not just their work, but the relationships that make this place special. These are the artists who show up, who inspire us, and who make Lavender Studios feel like a family. We can’t wait for you to meet them, hear from them, and experience the creativity they bring wherever they go.
