This Indigenous Peoples Day gathering will create space to share stories, recognize loved ones, deepen awareness, and take meaningful action. The evening will include a community remembrance exhibit, a Red Ribbon Remembrance activity, and opportunities for storytelling, learning, and a call to action. Guests are also invited to share stories of their loved ones as part of the gathering. We are honored to welcome Abigail Echo-Hawk (Pawnee) as our keynote speaker. Echo-Hawk is a nationally recognized MMIP researcher and advocate and co-author of a landmark study focused on missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.This gathering is hosted by the Washoe Off-Res in partnership with the Urban Indian Health Institute.
