Terra Cotta Planters Clay Play

In this hands-on workshop, students will pinch and coil medium-sized planters designed for both indoor and outdoor use. The class will focus on the anatomy of a vessel and strategies for achieving the form and proportions you’re aiming for, helping you build planters that are both functional and beautifully balanced.An optional underglaze session will be available for adding color and surface interest. Students will also have the opportunity to have their finished pieces fired at a lower temperature, allowing the clay to remain more porous and function like traditional terra cotta—perfect for healthy plant growth.Students will leave class with their planters ready for drying and firing; finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately 3–4 weeks later.
