- **Event Description**: Celebrate fall at Halloween at Loud Thunder (HALT)—Illowa Council's premier Cub Scout fall camping event! This event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Spend a weekend enjoying outdoor adventures, Halloween-themed fun, and family memories at Camp Loud Thunder.

Whether you choose to camp overnight or join us for Saturday activities, HALT offers an exciting lineup of hands-on experiences for Cub Scouts and their families. Enjoy games, BB gun and slingshot shooting, hayrack rides, campsite decorating, a campfire program, and plenty of other seasonal activities designed to make this one of the highlights of the Scouting year.

Camping Sessions: Families may choose from two camping options, each offering an overnight stay and a full activity session.

Session 1: Friday Evening Camping & Saturday Morning Activities.  Weather Permitting, Session 1 will also include programming at the Loud Thunder Observatory courtesy of the Popular Astronomy Club of the Quad Cities. The observatory programming is ONLY available to participants that are camping overnight.

Session 2: Saturday Afternoon Activities & Saturday Evening Camping
Cost: $25 per person (youth and adults)

Camping registration includes:

Overnight camping
Dinner and breakfast
Official event patch
Access to all HALT activities

Please Note:

Camping is open only to families with a registered Scouting America youth member.
Pre-registration is required for everyone participating in the camping sessions.

Saturday Walk-In Option: if you aren't a Scouter and you're interested in visiting Camp Loud Thunder to learn more about the program, HALT is a great way to check things out! This option is also great for Scouters that can't stay overnight.

Join us for the fun on Saturday, October 17! Walk-in participants can enjoy the day's HALT activities without camping.

Cost: $20 per person (youth and adults)
