✒️ Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy – Afternoon Workshop ✒️
We’re delighted to now offer a half-day afternoon option for our popular Beginner’s Modern Calligraphy workshop with tutor Jane — perfect if you’d love to try calligraphy but can’t commit to a full day.
Jane will guide you through the basics of Modern Calligraphy, a relaxed and user-friendly style that’s ideal for both left and right-handed people. You’ll learn how to hold and use the pen and nib, experiment with inks and metallic paints, and practise using example sheets before creating a personalised wreath sample to take home.
✨ All equipment is provided, and Jane only uses materials that are proven to work well for beginners. She’ll also have optional supplies available to buy if you’d like to continue practising at home.
🕙 Afternoon session
1.15pm – 4pm
Doors open from 12.45pm for a relaxed start and a cuppa.
💷 Cost
£36 + 80p card fee
Includes all materials and refreshments (excluding lunch).
👥 Places limited to 10 to ensure a friendly, supportive learning experience.
🖐 Skills needed
No experience necessary — just a steady hand, like handwriting.

Any calligraphy supplies you already own (Jane is happy to advise)
A few pennies if you’d like to purchase nibs or inks
Reading glasses, if needed
