Theatre events in Hyderabad

Hyderabad emerged as the cultural nucleus of India with the decline of the Mughals. Also, the fall of Delhi in 1857 prompted the relocation of performing artists from the north and the west of the sub-continent into the city, thus contributing to its rich cultural milieu. As observed by Isaac Goldberg, “There is the smaller world that is the stage and the larger stage that is the world”. This observation outlines the subtle yet overwhelming role of theatre in our lives. The actors involved in theatre do a commendable job in portraying every emotion and every facet of existence in all its glory. Although theatres in Hyderabad is in its post-amateur stage, the state government promotes multiple programmes, festivals, and plays in Hyderabad in famous venues as Ravindra Bharati, Shilpakala Vedika and Lalithakala Thoranam. Theatre groups in Hyderabad are on a positive slope of fame and participation and organize some of the top theatre plays in Hyderabad.
