Hands on Anatomy
Hands-on Anatomy will provide hands-on professional development for up to 30 teachers in which participants will learn step-by-step how to build the anatomical human body parts with clay upon their maniken stations using a sequenced system-by-system approach. The clay is color-coded to build aspects such as veins, arteries, muscles, organs, etc.! Participants will pay a materials fee so that they can also take their reusable maniken station back to their school along with some handouts so that they can start to immediately use it for demonstration with the long-term goal of schools having one maniken station for every 2 students in their human anatomy class so that all students can learn the anatomy by doing! This 2-day training is also part of Mrs. McCrory's long-term commitment to provide professional development for each of the recommended Biochemistry STEM pathway classes so that many schools can create a CTE funded STEM pathway that is doable in all sizes of districts. The Biochemistry STEM pathway design utilizes some core classes already being taught and then adds the associated career connection skills! Materials fee of $300.00 includes handouts and 1/2 maniken. After you attend this workshop ask about the discount coupon available. Instructors: Mr. Dan Whisler and Mrs. Clelia McCrory Time: 2 days from 8:30-3:30 with a hour lunch break for participants to take on their own Please order so that manikens with training tools and clay can be ordered and then be available for each participant.
