ADAM HALLIWELL & OLLIE COX

Italian folk songs inspired by a quasi-Italian upbringing. Experimental instrument techniques, out dated midi technology, pop sensibilities, plain song bardisms weaving between organic song forms and modal improvisation.

A versatile improviser and lover of performance, Adam Halliwell has been an active contributor to numerous musical communities in recent years. He is guitarist and flutist in the psychedelic jazz fusion band Midlife and a member of the group I Hold The Lion’s Paw.

Ollie Cox is a Melbourne-based composer, drummer and improvisor, who works in the liminal spaces between constructs of sound and music. Drawing in equal measure from his jazz-centric background and love of experimentalism.

A new project featuring loopy songs, drum machine and saxophone FX - optimistic, sparse, vulnerable, present and direct.

Flora Carbo’s solo sets have been described as “Folk-like tunes, wobbly electronics & drum machines in a mix that recalls Arthur Russell’s evasiveness, the Art Ensemble of Chicago’s playfulness, the moody thrill of a late-night trad session, and the intimacy of singer-songwriter performance.” (Tone List)

Flora Carbo is a saxophonist, composer and music leader from Naarm (Melbourne, Australia). Her unique practice creates novel musical environments that connect people through improvisation, composition and conceptual works, led by her explorations into the vocal qualities of the alto saxophone.
