Hello everyone! This is not the normal "What's the water temp post" HAHA .... Prior to Waco 70.3 I extended a dinner invitation to a few of the local to DFW triathlon groups I frequently attend events with to get together for dinner hoping to make some new friends & meet people to share the camaraderie with during race weekend .....and during the planning it dawned on me there's a lot of us in the DFW area who are very close but not everyone is actively involved in "ABC whatever" triathlon group or at the ABC gym/ride at the same time....
Because it was very well received prior to Waco... in keeping with tradition I've decided to go ahead and do it once more for Ironman Dallas 70.3 this March.
Like most of you racing in Little Elm in the hopes of not bonking I plan to do some serious carb loading before driving over HAHA!
Therefore....
Friday 03-13-26 @ 6:30pm my wife Renee and I are extending an invitation to dinner at our restaurant to the athletes competing in Little Elm, or even if you’re just gearing up for a heavy training weekend in solidarity with those of us who are racing.
Totally free. No charge whatsoever. Just a chance to meet others who are going to be in Little Elm and/or train locally here in DFW or maybe train with one of the other Tri-clubs in the area that you might not know about.
I am a member of Ft Worth Tri Club, also a random visitor with the Frisco Tri-Club, train with Garrett Mayeaux at Pegasus Triathlon as well as DFW Multisport and sometimes ride with Endur3 in Frisco when I can find the time to make it out there. I tend to get around but that's not the norm in the triathlon community in DFW from what I've seen... this dinner is an attempt to break that HAHA!
I've already extended the invitation to everyone I normally see and know to join for dinner. But there really are a lot of us around the DFW area all over... not just those individual groups... feel free to invite and share with anyone that has good vibes and a positive attitude.
Dinner on the 13th is just a chance to make some friends in what can be a very lonely sport with long hours and hopefully create new connections making new friends for the future or just someone you recognize during race weekend.
Dinner will be a buffet style family pasta and appetizer spread- Very carb heavy. Again, no charge. Just pay for your booze if you choose to partake. You're welcome to order something I am not providing on my dime if you like but I promise to put out a good spread. Kids are welcome as well if you need… I’ll be leaving mine at home since they are 4 and 5 and can act like terrors at restaurants (Especially ours!) but if yours don’t fall into that category feel free to bring them along!
Location-
La Bistro Italian Grill
722 Grapevine Highway

3/13/26 @ 6:30pm
