Dave Stahl Day

Dave Stahl was a player for the Huron All Stars until 1975. Dave’s hockey experience was aided by Good Samaritans who helped cover the costs of hockey when he could not. In 2021, Dave passed away from a terminal illness but not before he and his friends worked to start a fund to help diminish financial hurdles for kids to play hockey. Dave’s goal is for all youth is to be able to be involved in hockey and to be an “All-Star”.

Dave’s friends and others have been and continue to plan to sustain the fund for many years to come. SDAHA will continue to accept financial support and donations in support of this fund into the future.

To date, 65 players from 11 different associations within SDAHA have received support so far from the Dave Stahl All Star Fund. Over $20,395 in funds have been granted to date to help these "All Stars"!

Dave Stahl Day has been and will continue to be the 3rd weekend in December to help kick off the fundraising efforts for the next hockey season.

Games on Saturday are all against Yankton and include:
Squirt C at 9 am
Squirt B at 10:30 am
PeeWee at 12:30 pm
Girls 14U at 2:15 pm
Bantams at 4 pm
Youth JV at 5:45 pm
Youth Varsity at 7:45 pm

The Varsity Game will also be the Teddy Bear Toss Game - Please bring your bears and other stuff animals. All items will be tossed after the FIRST GOAL is made. Items will then be donated to the Salvation Army.

Raffle Baskets and 50/50 boards will also at the rink that day to help the fundraising for the scholarship fund.
