- **Event Description**: Ready to become a certified lifeguard this summer? ??‍♂️ The Hurlburt Field Aquatic Center is offering a lifeguard certification course designed to prepare participants with the lifesaving skills and confidence needed to respond in and around the water.

New Certification: $225
Re-Certification: $115 (current certificate required)

Must pass the prerequisite swim test on 29 May to register
Online coursework link will be sent after registration
Attendance at all class dates is mandatory

? Prerequisite Requirements:

Complete swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest:
Swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both (goggles are allowed).
Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs.
Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.

Complete timed event within 1 min, 40 sec:
Swim 20 yards, dive down to retrieve a 10-pound object, and swim back to starting point on your back (no goggles allowed).
