BIO:
Hilda Donahue is an Irish international rider and trainer whose career spans eventing, dressage, western dressage, and endurance, representing Ireland at the highest levels in three disciplines. Originally from Dublin, she is now based in the Orlando/Apopka, Florida area.
As an event rider, Hilda has competed at many of the world’s top five-star and CCI*** events, including Kentucky, Burghley, Pau, and Adelaide, and has been short- and long-listed for the World Equestrian Games and the Olympics, as well as representing Ireland at the World Cup Final in Pau.
In dressage, she has earned her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals and has competed up to Grand Prix level. She also brings this strong classical foundation to riders in western dressage, helping create soft, balanced, and rideable horses in western tack. (Also I have heard there is a goal to compete & represent Ireland at the LA Olympics if the right horse can be sourced)
Hilda is also a highly accomplished endurance rider. She has been ranked among the leading riders on the FEI Longines World Rankings, has completed some of the world’s toughest rides—including the Tevis Cup and the Sheikh Mohammed 100-mile ride in Dubai—and qualified two horses for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games, where she represented Ireland in endurance. She has since also represented Ireland at the 2025 European Championships and qualified for the 2026 World Championships.
With over 20 years of coaching experience, Hilda is known as a positive, detail-oriented teacher who works with riders of all levels, from young riders to advanced competitors. She has served for many years as an Area 3 Young Rider camp trainer and NAYRC selector, maintaining an exemplary safety record, and is a popular clinician across disciplines. Hilda is also a favorite Ride-IQ instructor!
