First Communion Classes Start

Our four-week First Communion education program is primarily for children in grades 2-5. We will meet from 10:45-11:45 am on Sunday, February 22 through Sunday, March 15. First Communion will be celebrated during the worship service of your choice on the weekend of March 21-22.

Over the course of the four weeks, we will explore how Holy Communion is a gift from God that offers a deep connection between us and Jesus. In addition to the learning that will take place, we will bake bread together and each child will paint their own chalice. The chalice will be used to serve them grape juice when they receive their first communion in worship. Parents are strongly encouraged to join their children for the third and fourth sessions to share in the experience of chalice painting and bread baking.

If your child is younger or older than grade 2-5, feel free to reach out to Pastor Ryan. We never want any child to feel excluded. You know your child well and together we can determine the best time for them to explore this special element of our faith.
