Cocktails & Chromosomes is Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory’s every-other-month lecture series that invites the public to connect with CSHL scientists, explore timely research topics, and discover how science shapes our everyday lives — all while enjoying your favorite cocktail or beer.Doors open at 6:45pm, event starts promptly at 7:00pm. Seating is first come, first serve! Event ends at 8:00pm.Here's what to expect:Engaging science, minus the jargon: For about 20 minutes, a Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory scientist shares their research and recent discoveries in a way that’s accessible, engaging, and designed for a general audience — no science background required.Interactive Q&A: After the talk, stick around to ask questions, dig deeper into the topic, and join the conversation with the scientist and fellow attendees.Cold drinks: Enjoy a wide selection of beverages available for purchase from Six Harbors Brewing Company. With a brewery downstairs and a distillery upstairs, there’s no shortage of seasonal beers, cocktails, and other favorites to choose from.Fun raffle: Upon arrival, guests can enter a raffle for a chance to win CSHL merch or a themed prize tied to the evening’s talk — a small but fun way to end the night.Cheers to science!Plus, if you RSVP on Eventbrite, you'll be automatically entered for a chance to win a free drink!
