When serial killer Charles Lee Ray is gunned down by Detective Mike Norris (Chris Sarandon), he uses a voodoo spell to transfer his soul into a doll named Chucky. When Karen Barclay buys chucky for her young son, Andy, Chucky resumes his killing spree, casting suspicion on young Andy.
