For those of you who have been around these Rides for years, the evolution of them is well known. From "follow the leader" rides with just a couple of riders, to the "roll chart" rides which accommodated larger groups, to the "GPS" rides which we are still using today.
We are now 16 years into using the same three geographic areas which we have always used in rotation, but we have decided to branch out this year and explore some new areas for the Ride. This year we will be starting and finishing in the Mall parking lot behind the Applesbee's, Selinsgrove Pa. There are many places to eat and drink and for gas in that area.
Another change for the Ride this year is that we will be using a route which has been planned and laid out by yours truly. I somehow convinced Frank to let me put the route together, so if you hate it, you can blame me!
The ride will be heading NW from the start and heading into the Bald Eagle State Forest. There will be a main route, and also some options for those riders who crave a more spirited ride, plus gas and food stops.
As usual the ride is totally free of charge, and Big Bike Friendly. The GPS route will be distributed during the week before the Ride. We will have a rider's meeting this year at 8:30, and the ride will start right after the meeting. So as usual we hope that a bunch of you will show up again and enjoy a great day on the bikes with many old and new friends.
