Program begins in the Nature Center and ends with a fishing adventure on Spring Creek.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Youth ages 14-17, that are interested in making an impact in their community through fishing, are invited to train with Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s Angler Education instructors. We’ll review the basics and beyond of fishing and all students will receive a rod and reel to keep. Upon completion of the course, youth will be able to volunteer with fishing and aquatic conservation programs.

Youth ages 9-13 are invited to explore the basics of fishing, like knot tying, fish identification, basic gear and basic casting. We will make a cane pole (to keep) and try to catch and release bluegills at Spring Creek.
