Guard Her Ground - Free boxing & self-defence sessions

Guard Her Ground is more than a workout, it’s a space to step into your power. With four sessions across four weeks, this programme blends boxing, self-defence, and sisterhood to help you feel strong in your body, sharp in your mind, and supported in community.

Led by Simeon, a certified boxing coach and personal trainer with over 20 years’ experience, the sessions are rooted in care, discipline, and purpose. Simeon believes women are too often denied access to self-defence training, leaving them at a disadvantage. He’s here to change that.

Expect practical tools to protect yourself, build strength, and grow in confidence — all set to uplifting lovers rock, reggae and disco-funk tunes to keep the energy high.

There’ll be movement, laughter, and a good dose of banter along the way. This is serious empowerment, wrapped in joy, rhythm, and real connection.

🥋 All equipment is provided, but wear comfy clothes and trainers. Feel free to bring your own gloves or hand wraps if you have them.

🎟 There are 4 free sessions, but booking your ticket is essential as spaces are limited.

Sessions take place on 11, 18, 25 Nov and 2 Dec. You can book 1 or all.

This programme is part of Rekindling Nello James, led by Rekindle School. Rooted in the legacy of CLR 'Nello' James, it embodies resilience, collective empowerment and community learning. Guard Her Ground reflects these values, creating space for women to build practical skills, confidence and solidarity together.
