Join us for a guided walk, in search of our elusive nocturnal residents.Learn more about Britain's amazing bat species on a two hour walk with our helpful guides. You will learn how to use a bat detector and put this into action, becoming a bat detective. You will learn about the different frequencies bats use and how we are able to identify species through sound alone.Embrace your wild side - what to expect.This event takes place in areas of uneven terrain and most of the walk takes place after sunset, so will contain periods of walking in lowlight or the dark.What to bring/wearOur event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! We'd recommend sturdy and waterproof footwear or wellies, and lots of layers!While some torches will be provided with red light filters, you are able to bring your own. Torches with red light filters are preferred.Toilets and cateringThere are toilets (including an accessible toilet). The café at the Spurn Discovery Centre closes are 4pm, but the toilet facilities will still be open.Covid-19 secureIf you have tested positive or think you may have Covid-19 we ask you to stay at home. Please contact Supporter Services if this is the case and your booking will be refunded. Visit our events Covid-19 page for more details.Joining us on the dayPlease meet at our picnic benches in the Spurn Discovery Centre's outdoor auditorium.ParkingThere is a £5 parking charge, which helps us to maintain the centre and look after the reserve.
