Join Santa and ride the wave of sugar cookies in this Christmas in July Cookie class!Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies?! Auntie Em is here to help! In this 1.5-2 hour class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with the glaze icing Auntie Em uses, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided in class along with a live in-person instructor (Auntie Em!).This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be decorating six different Christmas-summer themed cookies – so you can get your tan on sugar style!This class is for ages 10 and up - ages 10-14 with an adult (more classes in the future for just kids and teens), but if you have younger kids at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home or for those who want to practice all the skills you learn in the class! If a parent is accompanying an adult they will also need to purchase a ticket - seating is very limited.Class LocationThe class will be held at Auntie Em's Sweet Treats at the Silk Mill Building in Hughesville, PA located at 116 S Railroad St. Suite 118. Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! There is plenty of parking!!Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience!· Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it).· Bring your glasses! There’s a reference slide deck to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet.· Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone!· Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.A little about me (Auntie Em)I’ve been baking sugar cookies since Christmas 2019 – and I’ve not put down a scribe since (don’t know what a scribe is? I’ll teach you in class!). I love what I do –who wouldn’t love making cookies?! It’s the sweetest job in the world! These class kits come with everything you'll use in class! Cookie Class DIY Kits are created before your class, and you'll pick them up and take them with you after class.How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keep them fresh for a long time, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week after you've taken it home.
