They’ve done the steps, they don’t want to drink, life is stable. And yet somewhere inside there is a restlessness — whether boredom or a nagging feeling there is still something wrong with you. You are not alone. 

Some people respond by trying harder: more meetings, more programs, more self-improvement. Others slowly drift away.

What if that restlessness isn’t a problem? What if it’s a very real call from deep inside that something needs to change? 

This conversation is a space for women in long-term sobriety to name the dissatisfaction many of us feel. Together we’ll explore alternate understandings of addiction — everything from childhood trauma, to systems of oppression, to spiritual quests - that release the lingering shame and open up the path to real and lasting belonging, connection, meaning and aliveness.

We’ll also open the door to a more mystical way of understanding recovery and the 12 steps as a path toward living your soul’s purpose on this Earth. If you are feeling that maybe you are not the problem, and that you were actually born to feel, do and offer this world something more, I think you’re right.
