- **Event Description**: Our third Saturday work task will be held on 20th June from 10am till 12 noon close to the footpath down to Bank Dike and Meltham Mills Reservoir.

We will be carrying out Himalayan Balsam control, this is an invasive species which we remove by hand pulling, and is a great task for everyone to get stuck into.

Meeting point will be in the layby on Knowles Lane, we will then walk together to the field edge where we'll be working. Parking in the layby is limited, so if you are unable to get a spot here, there is usually space in Honley Old Woods car park.

Honley Old Woods carpark. From Meltham, the entrance is a left off Knowle Lane which is the same left that will take you down to Woodfield Cottage.

Please bring your own refreshments and gloves (if possible), and wear stout boots or wellies. As we will be working in understory vegetation to get to the balsam long sleeves and trousers are recommended to avoid any nettle stings or similar. Midge spray may be advisable too!

Everyone is welcome (whether you`ve never volunteered before or are a regular volunteer)! All the equipment and training support is provided.
