Hebron Haven Trail Run — A Breath of Fresh Country Air! 🌿
Get ready to explore brand-new trails deep in the Midlands countryside and into the heart of The Dargle! The Hebron Haven Trail Run takes place at the historic Hebron Haven Hotel, a cosy country retreat that first opened its doors in the 1920s to serve weary travellers and lumberers passing through.
The story of this land runs even deeper — under British rule, the property was granted to Carl Preller, who owned over 2,400 hectares in the area. Local lore claims that Preller buried treasure somewhere on the property to keep it from being squandered by his heirs. Some say it was uncovered during the construction of the Dargle Road… but who’s to say what treasures still remain hidden?
Runners will trace these storied landscapes through plantations, towering forests, along the uMngeni River, and around sparkling farm dams — a route that perfectly blends history, beauty, and trail adventure.
Come breathe it all in — and maybe uncover a gem or two along the way!
