Join us for a joyful and creative clay handbuilding class filled with holiday spirit. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to sculpt a beautiful clay poinsettia — a timeless symbol of the season — approximately 8 inches in diameter.
Our instructors will guide you step-by-step as you shape, layer, and texture your petals to create a stunning holiday wall piece or table decoration. Add your own personal touch with festive flair, use textures, or even turn your piece into a candle holder.
This workshop lasts approximately 2 hours. A $10 deposit holds your seat, and the balance of your project is paid at the workshop. We anticipate this project will cost around $45 total, using about 2 pounds of clay. Larger pieces may incur an additional cost. The class includes a second visit to glaze your piece once it has been fired, which will be ready within about 10 days. You can return to glaze during open studio hours, and we’re open six days a week for your convenience.
Your handcrafted poinsettia can be used as a festive wall plaque, a table centerpiece or holiday décor accent, or as a votive candle holder by leaving the center open for a cozy glow. Let your creativity bloom and craft a keepsake that will bring warmth and color to your home all season long. No experience is required—just bring your holiday spirit. This class is appropriate for ages 16 and up. Teens ages 13–16 are welcome with a paid adult participant.
Projects created in Clay Workshops should be glazed within two weeks of firing, or you may pick them up and glaze them within 90 days. Projects older than 90 days can still be glazed and fired for a $10 fee, though we may not be able to fire older pieces in November and December due to holiday volume.
