Learn to crochet with shop owner Kris! She's been crocheting for decades and has made hundreds of items she's sold, gifted, or kept for herself (you'll see her wearing some in the shop). Crochet is also a great mindful activity - you truly are focused and present in the moment when working on projects.

In this class you'll learn crochet basics including: hook sizes & yarn weights; reading a yarn label; basic crochet terminology; anatomy of a crochet stitch basics of reading a crochet pattern (plus cheat sheet); and common pitfalls.

During the class we'll start to work up a beginner washcloth. You'll learn the slip knot, basic foundation chain, single crochet, turning chain and starting a new row, managing yarn tension, counting stiches, and time permitting, a simple border and finishing off your washcloth by fasting off and weaving in your yarn ends.

All materials are included in the class fee: crochet hook, yarn (enough for 2 washcloths), tapestry needle, stitch marker, row counter, washcloth crochet pattern, and cheat sheets. We'll share scissors as needed.
