- **Event Description**: Spend a sunny Sunday afternoon getting your hands a little messy and your creativity flowing! In this playful clay handbuilding class, you’ll craft your own cheerful garden sun plaque—perfect for brightening up your outdoor space and welcoming the spring season.

Guided step-by-step, you’ll learn how to shape, sculpt, and add personality to your piece, from dreamy closed eyes to radiant, swirling sun rays. No experience needed—just bring your imagination and a love for all things spring!

Your finished plaque will be up to 8" in size (with the option to create a larger piece for an additional cost). The class runs for 2 fun and relaxed hours, giving you plenty of time to create something truly unique.

To reserve your spot, there’s a $10 instructional fee to sign up and hold your seat. The $45 project fee will be paid at the class.

This project uses high-quality stoneware clay and glaze. Stoneware is durable, dishwasher and microwave safe, and perfect for pieces that need to withstand the elements—making it ideal for your garden art! We’re excited to offer this elevated clay option, and when you return to glaze, you’ll also learn about the specific glazes used for stoneware.

After your piece is created, it will dry and be bisque fired (this takes about 10 days). Once it’s ready, you’ll be notified to come back during our drop-in hours to glaze your piece—adding the final colorful touch to your sunny masterpiece. Your class includes this return glazing visit, making it a two-visit experience all in one price!

This workshop is designed for ages 16 and up, with all experience levels welcome. Teens ages 13–16 may also join when attending with a paid adult.

It’s a feel-good way to kick off spring, meet other creative folks, and make something that’ll keep your garden smiling all season long.
