Rapidly gaining worldwide renown, Russian pianist Yulianna Avdeeva was the First Prize winner of the 2010 International Chopin Piano Competition, which launched her to international fame. Following celebrated recitals at the Salzburg Festival, Carnegie Hall and London’s Wigmore Hall, DACAMERA presents her Houston debut in a fascinating program of Chopin’s revolutionary and poetic 24 Preludes juxtaposed with Shostakovich’s monumental Preludes and Fugues, the composer’s homage to J.S. Bach.
