Choosing to pursue apassion, she trained at Art Institute of Houston receiving a Bachelors of CulinaryManagement as well as a Pastry degree. She worked for a decade in various kitchensbefore discovering shamanism.Deanna is a member of the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation who was raised apartfrom her reservation. In 2019, Deanna took her first course in Core Shamanism whereshe learned methods for connecting with compassionate Helping Spirits. Thesubsequent teachings she has received from Spirits have helped her better understandher place in this world as well as many of her natural inclinations. For her, interactingwith Spirits was akin to coming home.She has furthered her training with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS) throughtheir advanced initiations programs. Her spiritual training continued with Sundoor’sFirewalking Instructor Program and Spirit Dance’s Conscious Breathwork andRebirthing trainings. She believes that she will always be a student, continually learningfrom nature, spirits, and people of all kinds.As a shamanic practitioner, Deanna utilizes the drum and sometimes a rattle to journeyto unseen realities to bring back healing and wisdom to the world.
