Open guitar tunings, unusual chord structures, and wrenchingly emotional lyrics are the hallmarks of the series of albums he’s released independently since 1979 that stands among the most idiosyncratic and uncompromising in modern music. Jandek’s Orange Show debut is the first Houston appearance since 2017 and a celebration of the reopening of the monument following a yearlong first phase of a comprehensive restoration plan.
