The program will conclude with a question-and-answer session with the audience. Rove's campus visit is part of the "Democracy in America" lecture series hosted by the Hobby School of Public Affairs.About the SpeakerKarl Rove is a political strategist, commentator and author known for his extensive experience in American politics. He served as senior advisor to President George W. Bush from 2000 to 2007 and as deputy chief of staff from 2004 to 2007. In the White House, he oversaw the Offices of Strategic Initiatives, Political Affairs, Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs, and coordinated the administration’s policy-making process. He played a central role in President Bush’s 2000 and 2004 election campaigns. Previously, Rove founded Rove + Co., a Texas-based public affairs firm that advised more than 75 Republican campaigns for the U.S. Senate, Congress and statewide offices across 24 states.Rove writes a weekly op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, appears frequently on Fox News Channel and is the author of the New York Times bestseller “Courage and Consequence.” His latest book is “The Triumph of William McKinley.”
