Mummy Issues: Ancient Trauma and Modern Drama

Discover how ancient Egyptian mummies transformed from sacred vessels for eternal life to objects of exploitation and fascination. Explore the sophisticated mummification process, which involved the removal of organs and careful wrapping, and then examine how these sacred remains were later commodified into medicine, Victorian entertainment spectacles, and artist pigments.
