French American Innovation Day 2019 - PROCEDURAL MEDICINE IN THE DIGITAL AGE
With a record of 10 millions patients per year, a surgical intervention every 3 minutes, and a 100,000 worker staff localized over 1360 acres, Texas Medical Center (TMC) in Houston is established as the biggest healthcare settlement in the world. Gathering about twenty hospitals and dozens of research centers, worldwide renowned as the best in their fields, TMC is pictured as the leader of various innovative medical areas, among which, cancer, neurology, vascular advanced treatments or cutting- edge surgery. Innovation force, mainly empowered by the TMC Innovation Institute, is growing at an exponential rate, and is now hosting start-up incubators (TMCx, JLabs, AT&T Foundry) which attract venture capital investors.
Willing to highlight the France capacities of research and innovation within the medical silicon valley of Houston, Office for Science and Technology in the French Consulate of Houston, in a close collaboration with the French-American Chamber of Commerce and the Counsellors for French Foreign Commerce, is setting up on Thursday, March 7 th , 2019 in Houston a French American Innovation Day conference, dedicated to the procedural medicine in the digital age.
As well for French and American researchers, PhD, students, companies and heads of innovation, FAID conference will give the outstanding opportunity to meet and learn about new technical evolution allowed by the increasing implication of digital science in medicine. Topics such as computer-assisted surgery, medical robotics, imagery and machine-learning, AI-based diagnostics, and innovative medical devices shall be introduced and debated through table discussion, expert’s conferences, poster presentations or start-up pitch sessions.
