The combined choirs of Michigan Tech perform Sergei Rachmaninoff's All-Night Vigil (Vespers). The piece consists of settings of texts taken from the Russian Orthodox All-night vigil ceremony.
It has been praised as Rachmaninoff's finest achievement and "the greatest musical achievement of the Russian Orthodox Church" It was one of Rachmaninoff's two favorite compositions. (Wikipedia reference)

ABOUT MICHIGAN TECH CONCERT CHOIR
Led by Jared Anderson, the Michigan Tech Concert Choir is a select ensemble of students and community singers studying and performing choral literature ranging from Gregorian Chant to Renaissance motets, masses and madrigals to fascinating new works by living composers.
ABOUT conSCIENCE: MICHIGAN TECH CHAMBER SINGERS
conScience: Michigan Tech Chamber Singers, led by Jared Anderson is a select, student-only chamber choir of 24 voices. Pronounced, “conscience,” the small ensemble performs varied styles and time periods (from antiquity to the present) in formal and informal performance settings. The choir performs locally and also tours regionally.
ABOUT JARED ANDERSON
Jared Anderson is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Michigan Tech where he conducts conScience: Michigan Tech Chamber Singers and the Michigan Tech Concert Choir. He also teaches courses in music theory, group voice, and basic musicianship, and coaches singers in Tech theater productions.
Originally from Orem, Utah, Dr. Anderson has conducted ensembles in Utah, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. He has worked with and conducted ensembles of all sizes and voicing, with singers of many different ages and backgrounds, including conScience, the Michigan Tech Concert Choir, Northland Singers, the Northland College Chamber Choir, the Lumberjack Chorus, the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra Chorus, the University of Minnesota Men's Chorus, the University of Minnesota Concert Choir, Brigham Young University Singers, the Brigham Young University Women's Chorus, and an inmate choir at the Utah State Prison. Dr. Anderson has been an active choral singer all his life performing in venues and festivals worldwide including in representative choirs at both the 4th World Symposium on Choral Music (Sydney, Australia), the 6th World Symposium on Choral Music (Minneapolis), and the Ravinia Festival. He has performed in choruses with the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. While living in Minneapolis he served as tenor section leader in the Dale Warland Singers. He is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association of Teachers of Singing. He served as President of the American Choral Directors Association-Michigan in 2015-2017. Dr. Anderson is an advocate for ensemble singing and the transformative power of singing in building caring communities. He is married to Jane Anderson; they are the proud parents of three children.

The Michigan Tech Music Series unites students, faculty, and community members for a vibrant season of live music in the Keweenaw. Part of the annual Rozsa Season, the Michigan Tech Art, Music, and Theatre Series are presented by the Visual and Performing Arts Department. With majors in audio production and technology, sound design, theatre and entertainment technology, and nine minors, the department fosters creativity, self-motivation, and the development of practical and artistic skills.
