- **Event Start and End Date**: Tue, 31 Mar, 2026 at 05:30 pm
- **Event Description**: Join award-winning performer Kuniko Yamamoto for an intimate backstage experience at the Rozsa Center.

While visiting to perform her private Class Acts show for local school-age children, Kuniko has graciously offered to lead this exclusive Japanese Tea Ceremony. This special fundraiser supports the Rozsa Class Acts Endowment Fund, ensuring future performing arts opportunities for local kids and youth in our community.

The Experience:

Part storytelling, part lecture, and part musical performance, Kuniko shares the fascinating connections between Zen, Samurai, and Tea. This presentation includes a slow, thoughtful traditional tea service where each guest will be served a specialty Japanese green tea. The 30 minute ceremony is followed by a Q&A with Kuniko Yamamoto.

Each reservation includes the tea ceremony, a direct donation to the Rozsa Class Acts Endowment Fund, and a custom take-home tea cup handcrafted for this event by local artist Kenyon Hansen.

Capacity is limited to 50 participants to maintain an intimate atmosphere.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts

The Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts cultivates a vibrant and connected community through experiences that bring the Keweenaw together. Located on Michigan Technological University's campus in Houghton, Michigan, the 80,000-square-foot arts center's design is inspired by the inclined look of the local copper mine hoists and shaft houses inside and out. Event spaces include the Rozsa Lobby, James and Margaret Black Performance Hall, Rozsa Backstage, Rozsa Art Galleries, and McArdle Theatre. As the largest theater in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the Rozsa dramatically expands the region’s access to large-scale performing arts events including Broadway tours, ballet, cirque, music, and more.
