2025 Keweenaw Color Run

The Keweenaw Color Run is back! Keweenaw Young Professionals invites you to join us on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 at 9:30AM for a fun, untimed walk/run event for the whole family. And again, this year, the Color Run will kick-off the annual Downtown Houghton Fall Fest starting at the end of the race, 11:00AM-2:00PM at the Waterfront Pier.

During this five-kilometer* event, participants will be blasted head to toe in different colored powders at various stations along the route. Not only will you get more colorful throughout the race, but each person will be provided with a color packet to kick off the race in full-color style!

A white or lightly colored t-shirt is best for a Color Run, to show off the color you collect along the race route. With this is mind, as an add-on to your race registration, we encourage you to purchase an official Keweenaw Color Run white t-shirt to commemorate the race!

KCR participants vary in demographics and reasons for running. With no winners or official times, the Keweenaw Color Run is an event for everyone! This event is designed to unite the diverse cultures and identities of the Upper Peninsula communities. Our goal is to get you out of your home or office, surrounded by family and friends walking or running to a healthier us.

And, as mentioned, the 2025 Keweenaw Color Run will once again be the kick-off event to the fourth annual Downtown Houghton Fall Fest at the Waterfront Pier! Vendors, music, plenty of pumpkins and fall fun await. Please see a note about parking for the Color Run and Fall Fest below.

Register NOW for the 2025 Keweenaw Color Run! Online registration ends on Friday, October 3 at NOON. Day-of race signups will be accepted.

T-shirt orders will close on Monday, September 22 at NOON to allow for printing.

NEW FOR 2025: Registration/t-shirt pickup for the race will take place the night before, Friday, October 3, from 6-8pm (location TBD). This is to help alleviate morning-of congestion at race start. We highly encourage you to register and pick up your t-shirt the night before! This way, you can show up right at race time, ready to go!

Who is Keweenaw Young Professionals?

Keweenaw Young Professionals (KYP) was founded 2013 by local community members as a group for young professionals to be social, network, get involved in the community and have fun.

In 2016, KYP became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization allowing us to further our efforts to achieve our mission of providing opportunities for area young professionals to connect and grow through community engagement and social events. REMINDER: Due to Fall Fest set up, PLEASE DO NOT BRING COLOR PACKETS ON THE PIER. We will line everyone up for the race start, and let you know when to throw your color pack to begin the race.
