Join us for a fun and creative day in the classroom as you design and construct your very own one-of-a-kind quilted sneakers! Choose fabrics that reflect your personal style or make a bold statement — you’ll only need 3 fat quarters to get started.

With Joan’s comprehensive kit, you’ll create a complete pair of sneakers from start to finish using the original pattern she designed.

Happy Feet! Quilted Sneakers pattern and step-by-step guide (designed by Joan Radell)

All incidental materials will be provided.
You bring:

Your fabric (3 fat quarters)

Foam interlining

Interfacing

We’ll be making hi-top sneakers, but you may opt for classic low-top sneakers (Keds-style) instead. The supply list is the same for both styles.

🛠️ Tools
The instructor will have leather punches and eyelet-setting tools available to borrow.
If you already own a 2mm leather punch and/or a 3/16” eyelet setting punch with anvil, feel free to bring them along.

👟 Important Sizing Information

Shoe size and sole color (black or white) must be selected at registration

Soles are sized using European sizing

Please refer to the conversion chart

Soles tend to run large — sizing down is recommended if you are between sizes

Soles are not available for sizes:

Below EU 36 (US 5.5–6)

Above EU 47 (US 13.5–14)

👩‍🏫 About the Instructor

Joan Radell is a long-time sewer, quilter, and sewing instructor and the designer and maker of the Happy Feet! Quilted Sneakers pattern. She is the creative force behind Bucklebee Bags, Bucklebee by Me patterns, and a line of specialty notions. Joan designs and produces her patterns and products at the Bucklebee Workshop in the beautiful Endless Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania.
