Hot Club de France, swing manouche, gipsy jazz, verschillende namen voor dezelfde smaakvolle muziekstijl die in de jaren dertig van de vorige eeuw ontstond. In die periode werd traditionele Europese zigeunermuziek gecombineerd met Amerikaanse swing. De belangrijkste schepper van deze opwindende nieuwe stijl was Django Reinhardt, de Sinti-zigeuner gitarist die in 1910 in België werd geboren. Samen met de Franse violist Stéphane Grapelli vormde hij in Parijs het legendarische Quintette du Hot Club de France en oogstte daar grote successen.

Trio Manouche komt uit Drenthe en werd in het najaar van 2018 opgericht. De formatie bestaat uit Ronald Kamphuis op sologitaar, Kor Mulder op ritmegitaar en Laurens Nijenhuis op contrabas. Samen brengen zij de sfeer van de Parijse jazzcafés van weleer naar Hoogeveen.
