Longtime Portland based songwriter Will West relocated back to his home state of North Carolina during the pandemic in 2020. He’s getting the band back together for a special evening at The Ruins.
Hailing from rural eastern North Carolina, Will West moved to Portland in the Summer of 2002. The son of a fiddle player, Will was surrounded by music at a young age. Inspired by old-time bluegrass and blues (and a touch of heavy metal) he started playing guitar when he was 11 yrs old. From his humble beginnings busking on downtown sidewalks and exploring open-mics, Will West has been on a steady rise in this rich Northwest music scene.
In 2010 he began to form a band of stellar musicians called The Friendly Strangers. Together they create a signature blend of Americana, Roots, Jazz, Pop and Bluegrass with a Psychedelic edge. Live shows are engaging, interactive and fun.
Hood River's own The Honey Jays open the show!
The FISH Food Bank mission is to help alleviate hunger by distributing food regularly and on an emergency basis, regardless of gender, race, religion, or sexual orientation and in a friendly, instant, sympathetic, helpful, nonjudgmental and confidential manner.
Their mission is to provide emergency food once per month or about 12 times per year to those in Hood River County and Mosier. In addition to food supplies, we have personal hygiene supplies too. Anyone who lives in Hood River County or Mosier needing food assistance can receive help from FISH.
