Friday, November 7 | 7:30 PM
Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall
Praised by Gramophone Magazine for her “infinitely sweet” tone, internationally acclaimed violinist Jinjoo Cho takes center stage to perform Brahms’ beloved Violin Concerto, a work of lyrical beauty and emotional depth.
Led by Music and Artistic Director Dane Lam, this program explores themes of cultural crossroads, featuring the Hawaiʻi premiere of Tūranganui by Māori composer Gillian Whitehead, a powerful and evocative work inspired by the meeting of cultures in Aotearoa (New Zealand). The evening concludes with Elgar’s enigmatic and deeply personal Enigma Variations.
