Working across drawing, textiles, and installation, Seyedzadeh explores memory, landscape, and displacement through material, color, and spatial form.In “The Sky That Carried Me From Peak to Sea” («آسمانی که مرا از قله تا دریا بُرد»), she traces how growing up alongside Tehran’s mountains shaped an evolving practice—from early drawings of ridgelines to suspended textile forms that reimagine the mountain as an atmospheric, sculptural presence—then follows the shift that came with relocating to the U.S. East Coast, where the East River’s water-and-sky horizon became a new point of orientation and longing. Drawing on the layered perspectives of Persian miniature painting (especially the School of Shiraz) and inherited indigo dyeing techniques learned from her mother, she maps a passage between Tehran and New York—between elevation and sea level, homeland and elsewhere—through cloth, pigment, and abstraction.Free and open to the public.
