This Homer Peony Celebration, join artist David Pettibone for a six hour painting workshop where we’ll paint directly from Homer’s favorite flowers.

Through discussion, demonstration and time to create your own painting, we’ll  translate the complicated and beautiful forms of the peony flower onto a canvas for you to take home.

Supplies Provided: Gamsol, oil colors (titanium white, ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, napthol red, yellow ochre, hansa yellow medium, pthalo turquoise)

Supplies List: I will be painting in oils and will supply oil colors.  If you would prefer to bring in a different paint medium, you are encouraged to do so. Whatever the paint medium- bring in your favorite colors. My personal color palette includes titanium white, ultramarine blue, cerulean blue hue, alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, napthol red, yellow ochre, hansa yellow medium and pthalo turquoise. In addition to your colors, be sure to bring a palette (specific to your medium of choice), a canvas (or other substrate appropriate for your preferred medium), a variety of brushes (oil/acrylic or watercolor), a painting knife (suggested for oils), rags and a jar (for solvent/water).

Recommended- a sketchbook and pencil for note taking.

July 12th, 10am-4pm 

Half an hour lunch break at 12:30. Students are responsible for their own lunches.
